For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything. Thess. 1:8
The Christians in Thessalonica were exemplary in many ways. And yet, they were just following the example set for them by Paul and his traveling companions. Both of these examples should challenge us as well.
It is easy to see this example being followed by Die Brücke (a GCE church) in Cologne, Germany. They have seen Paul’s example (in the New Testament as well through people who have ministered to them), and they have turned around to do the same. One of the latest examples of this is the short-term team they just sent to Brașov, Romania.
A team of 10 very well prepared laborers joined with David Cato and family to hold a German Camp at the beginning of September. They not only made friends with a group of campers through workshops, fun, and seminars. They also sounded forth the word of the Lord by very clearly presenting the gospel. It was especially encouraging to see over half of the campers show up for fellowship in the Cato’s house church the next Sunday.
It is only a matter of time until the church in Brașov follows the example, and sends its own team out to continue the process. What a privilege to be a part!
