Short-term Missions Teams Impact Europe

Spring and Summer are a great time to see the Lord move in and through teams of individuals that both serve the GCE churches in Europe and explore cities where new initiatives are underway.  Below are just a few glimpses of short-term missions teams that have been in Europe this summer:

Berlin, Germany- Daniel Goering-denton

We hosted a team of six from Denton, TX in our home from May 22-26.  They spent each day reaching out on campus here in Berlin, and had several opportunities to go through the whole gospel with people.  We were also able to show the team some of the sights of Berlin.

As a result, we have some follow up to do.  Pray especially for Philipp and Niklas.  They each indicated interest in hearing more about the Bible and our faith in Christ.  Pray that Philipp joins us for English Conversation in the coming weeks.  Pray also for the rest of the team’s time in Germany.  They are serving in the Cologne church until June 4.

Czech Republic, Timmy Powers-

The first leg of my trip in Czech Republic was fantastic. We had sixteen Americans laboring in two cities and between us we had over two hundred opportunities to share the love of Christ with people in what is considered one of the most atheistic countries in the world. Our Czech partners were so excited that, in our labors together with them, we found many open people. I will share some more specific stories with you after I return from my five week trip, but I wanted to update you with the news that God answered your prayers by making our time in Czech Republic very fruitful.

ohioStockholm, Sweden-

TEAM 1 -A team from Kent, Ohio arrived a week ago ready to serve and walk with me to discover what God is doing in Stockholm. We have prayed walked many streets. We have had a picnic looking to build bridges with immigrants. After helping a bird feeder, we got to have tea with one of my neighbors from Algeria and his Russian bride.  We have walked university campuses and engage many different types of people in many different ways. This past week has been an incredible launch into a new chapter of ministry and I am extremely thankful to have had such quality people to labor with. This team is asking God if He would open the door to provide jobs, studies, housing, etc to move here and continue to the work. Let’s pray for a way for more laborers to come to Stockholm!

TEAM 2 HAS ARRIVED! All the way from Utah! It is amazing how the Lord just keeps sending workers with servant hearts to help us labor! We have hit the pavement daily to cultivate presence and engage people around the neighborhood. Targeting specific locations with the eyes and ears of our heart open to see how God is inviting us to join in. The team is also willing and helpful in taking care of some practical projects for the church building. A tremendous blessing to us all!  Besides daily outreaches and spying out the land, we will facilitate an all night prayer vigil this weekend from 7 pm to 7 am. Feel free to join us as we seek God to move in this city!

Please pray for the many remaining short-term teams going to Europe this summer!
