In early 2016, Milagros (or Miracles) came to Spain from Argentina to be with her boyfriend, Nacho. They began to attend the worship services at La Roca Pamplona in the spring. After attending a few times, Dámaris began to meet with “Mili” to reach out to her. Mili then began to attend the women’s study also lead by Dámaris. For several weeks, she clearly heard the gospel and saw it lived out in La Roca. By late May, Mili repented of her sin and placed her faith in Jesus Christ. Almost immediately, she asked to be baptized. So we baptized her in a nearby lake.
Mili and Nacho (who had professed trusting Christ) both wanted to obey the Lord and seek God’s will about marriage. They accepted our immediate counsel to live separately. We continued to pray and counsel this young couple as individuals, and then as a couple once they confirmed the decision to get married. In early December, the Lord brought them together in holy matrimony. God provided a wonderful ceremony and reception where many of their friends and co-workers clearly heard the gospel message and testimony.
For La Roca, it has been extra special celebrating our first wedding as a church family and, all the more, having witnessed Mili come to faith in Christ, obey Him in baptism and grow spiritually. Please pray that Nacho and Mili would continue to be “light and salt” to their family, friends, co-workers, etc. Pray for abundant grace and wisdom as they form their own family on the foundation of the Rock, the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt.7:24)! Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” John 5:24 ESV
