U4E14 is a joint initiative between European churches and leaders and Great Commission Ministries (GCM) & Great Commission Europe (GCE) missionaries with the goal of initiating new works in new cities within Europe. Europe has the lowest percentage of evangelical Christians in the world, with many countries having 1% or less of an evangelical presence. There are millions more internationals from other parts of the world, and almost twice the number of international students than in the US.

U4E14 encourages people to think more specifically about the need for the gospel in Europe. Our prayer is that U4E14 would stir hearts and crystallize vision in such a way that new laborers would be sent into the ripe harvest fields of Europe. Our desire is to mobilize missionaries in seven European countries where partnerships are currently forming.

Albania

Albania has undergone major changes since the initial explosion of Christian missions just after communism fell. The church in Albania is now in a critical stage of transition and desperately needs mature Christian workers. GCE churches in Italy have a number of Albanian leaders and are praying diligently for God to start a new work there with the help of Albanian nationals.

Needs:
Mature leaders who can adapt, work cross-culturally, and unite national believers in 2014 and beyond.

Armenia

An Armenian pastor was feeling a call to rethink church; instead of bringing people to his church, he wanted to bring church to his people.  After searching the web, he came across The Simple Church website and connected with GCE’s Eastern European Director asking for help.  These two men have developed a training mentorship that has assisted in starting small house churches in Armenia.

Needs:  Looking for leaders who can be catalytic and who can coach and develop nationals to be disciple-makers and church planters. The focus will primarily be on developing a network of simple churches and STMs in 2013-2014.

France

God has given GCE an open door in Grenoble, France through a young couple who was originally connected with GCE churches in Italy. They have begun a small home fellowship and are in need of leaders to support their efforts. Many doors in the rest of France can be opened if we are able to be successful in Grenoble.

Needs: Long-term laborers who can speak French, and STM’s in 2013-2014.

Latvia

In 2010 a GCE Leader connected with an individual in Latvia with a heart to reach his country. Today that coaching and mentoring relationship continues to be strengthened and a small house church has taken shape in an apartment in Latvia. GCE would like to mobilize more coaches to help Leadership in Latvia reach their country more rapidly through the Simple Church model.

Needs: Looking for leaders who can be catalytic and who can coach and develop nationals to be disciple-makers and church planters. The focus will primarily be on developing a network of simple churches and STM’s in 2013-2014.

Moldova

Partnerships between Moldovan leaders and GCE leaders have developed over the last several years. GCE has been instrumental in coaching and training Moldovan leaders on how to implement a Simple Church structure in their country. GCE would like to see more coaches and trainers connect with these Moldovan leaders to have a greater impact in the country.

Needs:  Looking for leaders who can be catalytic and who can coach and develop nationals to be disciple-makers and church planters. The focus will primarily be on developing a network of simple churches and STMs in 2013-2014.

Romania

God is providing a number of connections with individuals through our GCE churches and The Rock Church in Salt Lake City, Utah both of which are interested in seeing a church planted in Iasi, Romania. Several people are already living in Romania and excited about future partnerships with and support from GCE.

Needs:  Laborers who can share their faith, learn a language and work as a team, and STM’s in 2013-2014.

Sweden

Riverbend Community Church in South Carolina has been successfully and consistently sending short term teams to serve in Lulea, Sweden. The existing works in Lulea have been strengthened and encouraged through these teams. GCE would like to be instrumental in sending more teams to the large student population in Lulea and to see future plants in surrounding areas.

Needs:  People who can share the gospel and make disciples, and STM’s in 2013-2014.

The needs are great! We are praying for more laborers and leaders to serve alongside GCE in these European countries. If God is asking you to consider helping, please contact us.
